Thank you for participating in the Train the Trainer Event at Walnut Creek Metro Park on Feb 20, 2024. This event brings to fruition the Unified Management Plan created by the City of Austin and Austin Parks Foundation to facilitate greater volunteer stewardship of natural areas in this park and eventually others. Today we are focusing on specific tasks you can do in this park or others with your volunteer groups to further the ecological health and natural beauty of our park system.

The day will include a general overview of working as a volunteer in parks as well as focused practical experience associated with invasive species removal, invasive species ID, sustainable trail management, live tree staking, woody material planting, and general information about the Unified Management Plan and Walnut Creek metro Park.

Logistics:
We will meet at the bridge moving over Walnut Creek @ 9am. Please note it is an approximate 10 minute walk to this location from the bathrooms and parking. There are no bathrooms in this location. We will meet at the bridge and then break off into groups. See the schedule here:
